Dan Wheeler

Dan Wheeler recently retired as the Director of the University of Tennessee Extension, Center for Profitable Agriculture–an Agricultural Innovation Center focused on value-added business opportunities in the Food and Fiber Sector. Prior to assuming the Directorship of the Center, Wheeler served more than seven years as Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture after having completed a 30-year career with the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation, including 20 years as the Chief Staff Officer.

He is a past member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Tennessee, the Tennessee Board of Regents, and the Tennessee Economic Growth Board. His current business interests include membership on the Board of Directors of First Farmers and Merchants Bank where he serves as chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board.

Wheeler holds a B.S degree in Agriculture from the University of Tennessee.
